Memorial Service & Class Celebration

1600 - Memorial Service

We will hold a memorial service at the DoubleTree Hotel in Annapolis - the Reunion Headquarters. It will be a 30-minute occasion to remember our classmates and will consist of singing the Navy Hymn and America the Beautiful, a reading from the Bible's Old and New Testaments, two short remembrance statements, and reading the names of our departed shipmates.

1630 - Class Celebration

There will be a 20-minute class meeting following the Memorial Service at the DoubleTree Hotel in Annapolis. This short meeting will be a time to reflect on our 50+ years of class loyalty and fellowship as well as to celebrate our overwhelming support of our alma mater and the Brigade of Midshipmen.

50th Reunion Dinner

50th Reunion Dinner at Dahlgren Hall! Cocktail reception with hors d'oeuvres and served dinner. We plan on seating everyone together by company for the dinner. However, since the tables are limited to 10, it may not be possible to seat everyone from the same company together at the same tables. We'll do our best to make that happen, but we need to use all of the space available for the dinner.

Select one of three entree options: Steakhouse Flat Iron Steak - 8 oz Dinner Portion, Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon - 7 oz Portion or Pasta Primavera - Dinner Portion.

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee for the 50th Reunion is $44 Per Classmate plus $32 for first adult guest and $5.00 for each extra guest’s name tag. This registration fee covers the administrative cost associated with planning the reunion, but not limited to, ancillary tailgate costs, programs, usage fees, signage, printing, nametags, and shuttle bus transportation during the weekend of the reunion. Help the reunion committee by making plans early.

Can I pay with cash or check?

No, to keep efficient processes, we are only accepting credit card transactions - cash and check are not accepted.

What is the processing fee?

The processing fee covers the credit card transaction fees.

When does registration close? What are the late registration fees?

Help out the reunion committee by making plans early! You have the option to make payments over time, the earlier the better! The registration fee will increase by 50% beginning 15 August. Registration will close on 15 September. After 15 September, contact Reunion Chairman, Jim Hergenroeder directly at jimhergen1@gmail.com.

What is the refund policy?

Refunds will be dealt with on a case by case basis minus the processing fees. Refund requests will be determined by the Reunion Committee.

Do I need a passport to gain access to the Yard?

In short, Yes!

Residents from a state/territory that is compliant with REAL ID or non-compliant with REAL ID, but has received an extension may continue to use their current state/territory-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards, regardless of whether the card is REAL ID compliant or not, for accessing federal facilities, including military bases.  This is what we call 'state-based' enforcement.  Only the state that issued the resident’s license/ID must be either compliant or have been granted an extension in order for that resident to use that license/ID for accessing Federal facilities.  The license/ID itself does not have to be REAL ID compliant until 'card-based' enforcement begins on May 3, 2023.

Starting February 5, 2018, residents of American Samoa, which is not compliant with REAL ID and was not granted an extension, will no longer be allowed to use their American Samoa-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards to access federal facilities (including military bases), enter nuclear power plants or board commercial aircraft.  As noted above, this is what we call 'state-based' enforcement.  American Samoa residents will need to show an alternative form of identification that is acceptable to the facility.  Visitors should contact the facility to determine what, if any, identification is needed for access.

Where alternative forms of ID are required, typically, a government issued photo ID, such as a Passport or Passport Card, will suffice.

Can I park in The Yard?

Getting your vehicle onto, and parking in The Yard is very, very challenging at this point given the various construction projects underway.  We do NOT recommend planning on parking in The Yard.  Most access will be via foot at Gate 1.

How can families of Fallen Classmates register to attend the reunion?

The USNA Class of 1971 is honored to have families of our fallen classmates join us for the weekend. Please contact the Reunion Committee for more details.

Can I park at the Stadium during Game Day?

In short, No. Parking will NOT be sold for the stadium (Blue and Gold) lots on game day. A season parking pass can be purchased by season ticket holders. Satellite parking is available at the Harry S Truman Park and Ride, located on Harry S Truman Parkway just off Riva Road. Shuttle service begins five (5) hours prior to the start of the game. Service continues throughout all games, ending approximately two (2) hours after each game's completion. The shuttle runs approximately every 20 minutes, and drops off and picks up at the Navy Ticket Office at the Class of 1953 Pavilion. Handicapped Parking: For access to handicapped parking, you must have a season parking pass. In order to obtain handicapped parking, one must purchase a season parking pass as well as have a state issued handicapped parking placard or license plate.
